Word Lengths and prices information for books

There is a guideline for word lengths that writers and publishers uses.  Some publishers vary, but mostly, here are the lengths and prices for books.

Short story – up to 7,500 words in length.    Usually listed for $0.99

Novelette – 7,500 to 17,500 words in length.  Usually listed for $1.99

Novella – 17,500 to 40-50,000 words in length. Usually listed for $2.99 to $3.99

Novel – Over 40-50, 000 words in length. Usually listed for $4.99 or higher

I try to keep my book prices as low as I can, because of the economy.  It’s hard these days and since I love to read too, I understand this.

Many people who know I write always comment, “Authors get rich with the prices they list for their books.” It doesn’t work that way. The author gets a very small percentage of the list price of the book. It’s our love to write and our readers that keeps us writing.

Bless you and love you all,

Cia

  1. Hi Carrie!

Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me know you liked Roping Her Texan. That was so nice of you!

Dan and Sunnie will have their own story, but I am not sure exactly when. I have to write it yet. With the holidays, I have taken some time off to spend with family, but will post on upcoming book info when I start writing it. It will be a while, though.

Again, thank you. I appreciate your comments. It’s always nice to hear someone likes your stories.

    Blessings to you and yours,

    Cia

  2. What happen with Breed and Sunnie. Is there a follow on book about the two. Please put the follow on book at the end of each book.

    Blessings to you and yours,

    Cia
